Campus beauty

Alvernia鈥檚 Hill Campus sits on 191 picturesque acres, three miles from downtown Reading, Pa., home to the university's state-of-the-art John R. Post Center at Reading CollegeTowne. Alvernia also has a location 35 miles to the northwest in Pottsville, along with offerings 60 miles to the southeast in the Philadelphia area.

The cozy confines and strong sense of community cause many students to say Alvernia reminds them of home. And that feeling doesn't go away after commencement. Though Jeffrey Smith graduated from Alvernia in 1986, "it still feels like home,鈥 he said at 2024's Homecoming and Family Weekend.

Reading, Pa., is conveniently located near numerous major cities. A car ride to Philadelphia will take you about 90 minutes, the commutes to New York and Baltimore are about two hours, and the trek to Washington, D.C., lasts about three hours. The southeastern Delaware beaches (Rehoboth, Dewey and Bethany) are also only three hours away.
